Tigranes V was the grandson of Herod the Great and the son of Alexander I and Glaphyra who was the daughter of Archelaus of Cappadocia (she was probably an Armenian princess).

 

Obverse: Draped bust of Tigranes V to right, wearing five-pointed tiara decorated with three eagles and tied with a diadem.

Reverse: Elephant walking right. BAΣΙΛEΩΣ TIΓPANOY [MEΓAΛOY] (Great King Tigranes).
