Obverse: Levon I seated facing on throne decorated with lions, placing his feet on footstool, holding globus cruciger in his right hand and fleur-de-lis in his left. In Armenian: ԼԵՒՈՆ ԹԱԳԱՒՈՐ ՀԱՅՈՑ (Levon King of the Armenians).

Reverse: Two lions rampant back-to-back, each with heads reverted, patriarchal cross between them. In Armenian։ ԿԱՐՈՂՈՒԹԲՆ ԱՍՏՈՒԾՈ (By the Will of God).
